On Sunday May 3, I will be co-hosting a Jane's Walk with Liam Mooney, founder of Jackpine. This walk will cover a short distance along Bank street between Arlington and Nepean. The walk will focus on a series of buildings I have sketched. Most of these buildings have changed in the few years since the sketches were done, and a few notably have not changed. We'll discuss the evolution of the individual buildings and the overall character of the street. Participants will be given cards with illustrations of the buildings being discussed.

HighJinx is a small business in West Centretown which sells antiques and vintage items, and donates the profits to vulnerable members of the community. In 2014 their rental space in Chinatown was sold, and they were forced to relocate to Catherine street. Yesterday they announced via social media, that building was now for sale and their operation was at risk of closing. Having lived in a rental unit in a building which was sold, I can appreciate how stressful and difficult this is. HighJinx has began a crowdfunding campaign to help get them through this.
Before the original location closed, I made a sketch of the building. The original is for sale, and when sold, I will donate 50% of that sale to HighJinx's campaign.
Furthermore, if the buyer opts to donate the original to the owners of HighJinx, I will give a limited original print of the illustration to the buyer.

Welcome to the soft launch phase of the updated website. To celebrate the site going live, most items across the site are on sale for a limited time. If you happen to notice any errors, missing links, or strange things while browsing the site, please get in touch. In the meantime, visit the shop and consider testing out the new sales system. As always, thank you for visiting and supporting the work, it would not happen without the kind words of the community.

In the few years since developing my previous website, the internet has rapidly changed, specifically with a move towards mobile design. It is with this in mind I have navigated my website to a responsive design, with more focus on what I want to do: illustrate and explore new urban environments, and, ideally, sell a little more of my own work. The new design allows for easier access to items in the shop and also allows for easier updating on my end, which hopefully means more updates and new work posted more frequently. Read More72 Hour Film Challenge
This past weekend I helped make a short film with the Jackpine team for the Ottawa International Film Festival 72 hour film challenge. Despite being one of the coldest weekends of the year, I shaved my beard and walked around in a trench coat outside for hours.
The 72 hour challenge was one of the funnest & funniest weekends I've spent, and a very rewarding creative project. It was a privilege to work alongside the genius of Brennan Dougson and Matthew Stella and appear onscreen with the funniest person I know, Liam Mooney. It was a pleasure to work with the dozens of hard-working and talented people who put days into the making of this film.
